"Put a pin in that"
Sonnets to the corporate world by Devin O'Donnell
I read the memo, heard the pitch you made,
How we should get all our ducks in a row,
Move the needle to make the buy-in grow—
But can we pivot? And can they drink the Kool-Aid?
Let’s optimize our synergy and double-down
On something sticky enough to sweeten the deal,
Avoid all reinvention of the wheel—
To make the sale the final cause and crown.
Before we level set, and sync the cloud-first cable,
Let’s put a pin in that and circle back,
Drill down and align our thoughts on Slack—
To whiteboard our hearts and put on the table.
But let’s be clear about our daily routine,
To hide exactly what it is we mean.
